As anyone who knows me in real life or who has read a bit of this blog already knows, I am an avid Reality TV fan. In high school, I watched the Real World and America’s Next Top Model. In college, American Idol and Project Runway. And then, after I graduated, the sleazy Vh1 hits I Love Money, Flavor of Love, and I Love New York.
Recently, I have been able to combine some of my prurient TV watching with my academic interests. A short season of “Sister Wives,” a reality show on TLC that followed polygamists living in a suburb of Salt Lake City, spawned an equally short series of posts on this blog. And, now, MTV’s 16 and Pregnant is going to host a special in which one of its former cast members thinks about whether she should choose to have her latest baby or whether she should have an abortion.
